Your crops are in a war for survival, no matter how much control you exert over your agricultural environment.
That’s why Advanced Nutrients created a powerful weapon that strengthens your crop’s defenses against harmful pathogens, stress, and drought. This weapon is Scorpion Juice. Scorpion Juice is a premier, exclusively-formulated product that turns on the immune system of plants and orchard trees so they are on alert to defend themselves against hostile conditions.
Scorpion Juics contains a proprietary hormone-like substance and a protein derivative that creates “induced systemic resistance” (sometimes known as “acquired systemic resistance") to disease, pests, and other threats.
Even in the most professional growing environment, microscopic organisms and other threats will try to harm your crops by colonizing their leaves and root zones, and by infecting them in much the same way as humans are infected by flu viruses, fungi, and other pathogens.
Using Scorpion Juice is equivalent to giving your crops a "vaccination" that allows them to be prepared to fight off the invaders. Crops not treated with Scorpion Juice will be taken unawares by molds, fungi and parasitic insects, but plants treated with Scorpion Juice will react quickly to threats. This can make a critical difference between success and failure for farmers, greenhouse growers, and other cultivators. With Scorpion Juice, your crops can survive to harvest. Without, they may fail. Scorpion Juice “vaccination” benefits your crops regardless of whether or not they are attacked by pathogens or pests, because induced systemic resistance includes a cascade of inner processes that support faster growth and bigger yields.
The similarities between plant responses to attacks and human responses are fascinating. When a human is invaded by viruses, harmful bacteria or other disease, the body reacts with fever, swelling, redness, inflammation and other responses. When pathogens or insects attacks plants, plants respond using some of the same methods, such as lesions on leaves, loss of leaves, and the release of cell to cell communications signalers that place the entire plant on alert against the invaders.
All of us have heard of aspirin, but Advanced Nutrients scientists know of the vital role that a natural form of aspirin plays in plant immune system function. Aspirin is actually a chemical analog created by the Bayer Corporation in 1859, based on a natural material found in willow bark and other plants, known as “salicylic acid.” Aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. Salicylic acid is found in many plants and trees, and is believed to be a first line of defense against pathogens and other invaders. Our scientists believe that the drastic increase in salicylic acid release when plants are attacked corresponds to subsequent releases of other plant proteins that also appear to promote plant survival. AN researchers were excited about salicylic acid treatments when they found a study showing that barley seedlings treated with salicylic acid became extraordinarily resistant to powdery mildew, which is one of the most persistent plant diseases in North America. Other studies showed that similar treatments used on vegetables, tomatoes and tobacco plants produced similarly beneficial results.
One Cornell University study found a protein and gene pair (salicylic acid-binding protein 2- SABP2- and its gene) that facilitates inner-plant communication that triggers an increased plant immune system response. The Cornell researchers said that using immune system enhancement rather than pesticides, herbicides and similar protective measures was a safer way of helping ag crops battle threats. One of the differences between plants and humans is that plants only have one level of immune response, which is called the “innate immune system.”
In humans, the innate immune system is only a “first responder” responsible for the body’s initial attempts to protect itself when affected by disease, infection, and trauma. After the human innate system has kicked in, a more complex immune response takes over within several weeks, and this is the one that producers antibodies such as killer cells.
Plants do not have a secondary immune system like humans have; their innate system is their only defense. One way plant innate immunity fights disease is by forcing individual cells to undergo “programmed cell death” to sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the rest of the plant.
Other plant innate immune functions include networking the presence of a threat to the rest of the plant so that the entire plant becomes energized to fight the problem. This networking means that the plant defends itself against whatever pathogen has attacked it, but is also more vigilant against threats in general, including other pathogens.
In studies involving tobacco mosaic virus, which has been known to attack a variety of plant crops, scientists found that SABP2 triggered release of salicylic acid, which then created a “hypersensitive resistance response” that included programmed cell death at the site of the attack as plant cells sacrifice themselves for the overall survival of the plant. The cell death isolated the attacking organism so that it could not spread throughout the plant.
AN gave Scorpion Juice a bigger “sting” after analyzing research conducted recently regarding plant release of nitric oxide, which is generated by plants to fight against pathogen attacks. Scorpion Juics activates two immune system pathways in crops, and has been proven in field tests to be superior to harpin protein products that purport to create induced systemic resistance.
Scorpion Juice safely stimulates crops so that their immune systems are augmented, without sapping growth or other important functions.
Scorpion Juice is useful in general growing as a foliar and root zone treatment, but is especially good for farmers who grow from cuttings or seedlings. It is also very beneficial if you're growing in humid areas, in greenhouses, in soil, in small spaces, and in indoor soil-free settings. And if you are growing crops that are susceptible to powdery mildew, damping off, molds, fungi, viruses, and tiny, parasitic insects.
